This latest addition to the stylish and sophisticated city centre hotel is a brand new, state of the art, purpose-built convention centre. Offering convenient, functional and flexible facilities, the venue is designed to make events extraordinary, from private boardroom meetings to professional conferences of up to 800 people and gala banquets for 550 guests.
With over 2,020 sqm of meeting and event space with capacity for over 1,100 delegates, the new venue spans two floors, with the main plenary room, five break-out rooms and an impressive exhibition space. The complex now offers 20 meeting spaces across the Radisson Blu Royal, Hotel and Dublin Royal Convention Centre, as well as outdoor, open-air event space.
The main Douglas Hyde Suite (named after Ireland’s first president) on the ground floor level of the centre spans almost 705sqm to facilitate 800 delegates theatre style or up to 620 banquet style and has spacious pre-conference space perfect for serving refreshments, lunches and pre-dinner drinks. The suite can be divided into two separate suites and has been purposely designed with large-scale conferences, exhibitions & events in mind.

The Higgins and Robinson Suites are available on the upper ground floor of the building, again each with substantial break-out space and elegant modern decor.
In addition, the guests and delegates to space can capitalise on privileged access to accommodation with 234 bedrooms available at Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, Dublin as well as accessing the existing hotel meeting spaces which, added to the new convention centre capacity, brings the total meeting space across the two properties to almost 2,020sqm.
Reddy Architecture & Urbanism, also involved in the initial hotel build, are once again responsible for the striking modern design of the new convention centre and its series of exceptional spaces, working alongside historians, architects and preservation specialists. The location is at the centre of the formation of Dublin itself, close to the very spot where the city was originally settled, over a thousand years ago. Set on the preserved site of the 12th-century church of St. Michael Le Pole, the Dublin Royal Convention Centre at Le Pole Square is adjacent to Dublin Castle, connecting with the bustling Dame Street and George’s Street areas, the historic castle and St. Patrick’s Cathedral and Christchurch Cathedral. This ideal location is within minutes from Dublin’s finest shopping precincts, great restaurants, bars, thriving nightlife and key cultural touch points like the best theatres and galleries, and only a few minutes walk from Trinity College.

In addition to the conference centre, Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, Dublin and Velvære Spa, Le Pole Square will also have an array of first-class office space, a café, bar and gallery space, available to public visitors and for private hire.
The new convention centre celebrated its official launch on the 22nd of June 2023 by welcoming 400 guests to enjoy an evening of cocktails, food and entertainment in the outdoor event space at Le Pole Square, showcasing the courtyard with live music from the Brass Kings, entertainment from a fire-breather, and two Irish Wolf Hounds arranged by Sheil Entertainment Agency. Later in the evening, guests made their way to the main Douglas Hyde Suite where Madeline Riley, CEO of Luxor Leisure Limited, Padraic Rhatigan, Owner and Paul Kelly, CEO of Failte Ireland addressed the room before ending the evening with live music from the Swing Cats.
Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, Dublin has now been transformed from a destination hotel to what is essentially a standalone district in the heart of the city — with office and retail spaces, an exceptional hotel, a variety of dining options and a superb spa, along with the fact that guests and delegates cannot be more central, within steps of everything the city has to offer.
