The organisational team of the festival tried to close the funding gap caused by sponsor cancellations, yet ultimately decided to cancel the festival. The Fifteen Seconds Events GmbH company will file for insolvency in the upcoming days. A festival that became a trendsetter in formats, speakers and connection with the local community will be sorely missed by event organisers and creative minds.
All ticket buyers, sponsors, suppliers, partners and volunteers will be informed of the company’s future decisions. The organisers have decided there will be no digital alternative nor a Fifteen Seconds Festival in 2025.
Why the sudden cancellation?
Many sponsors of the event, including some long-standing ones, withdrew their support at very short notice, and in some cases, quite unexpectedly. That led to an immediate financial crisis for the company, making it impossible to organise an event of this magnitude. The festival has always been funded by sponsors who participate as exhibitors or through other forms of advertising. The loss of these funds makes it impossible to continue the company.
The organisers have announced they will focus on the proper handling of the insolvency proceedings and supporting the community in the coming weeks.
