GOTHIC-STYLE POWER PLANT
Once the power hub of Silesia, today the Gothic red-brick Elektrownia industrial building is home to a contemporary art gallery showcasing the works of Polish artists. It was constructed at the turn of the 20th century by the outstanding Polish architect Józef Pius Dziekoński (1844-1927), the author of designs for many monumental public buildings in Europe. A characteristic element is the Gothic-style tower and the brick facade.

The power plant building is impressive due to its excellent architecture and the original machinery and equipment of the former power plant, preserved in excellent condition inside. The result of the recent revitalisation is the restoration of the building’s functions while providing the opportunity to obtain a rich cultural offer in the unique setting of the former power plant, including exhibitions of painting, graphics, sculpture, photography, music events and workshops.

Event organisers can host an event for up to 100 attendees here, in a unique industrial setting. Participants will have the unique opportunity to explore the industrial heritage of Silesia in the museum and see the most recent exhibition – From Mural to Paper, showing works of street art painters.
