Q1: What makes your hotel truly unique for meeting planners?
Kimpton BEM Budapest offers a rare combination of architectural grandeur and contemporary luxury, set within the cultural heart of Buda. Meeting planners appreciate the intimacy of our venues, enhanced by state-of-the-art technology and highly personalised service. The hotel’s two major meeting facilities can hold 120+170 guests seated in two state-of-the-art meeting rooms, served with unparalleled service of Kimpton BEM’s.
Q2: If your hotel were a personality, how would you describe it?
Kimpton BEM Budapest would be a charismatic tastemaker—cultured, forward-thinking, and effortlessly stylish. It blends Budapest’s timeless elegance with an approachable, vibrant energy that makes guests feel both inspired and completely at ease. Much like a true host, it knows how to create memorable, meaningful experiences with subtle confidence. We would be Marcel Wanders himself with Hungarian blood.
Q3: What are the three key experiences that every event attendee should have when visiting your hotel?
Firstly, a gastronomic journey through AGOS Restaurant and Bar HUSO, offering locally inspired flavours with refined international execution. Secondly, a visit to the feNNen Skybar for panoramic views and signature cocktails at sunset. Lastly, a curated experience of Budapest’s cultural scene—easily arranged through our concierge and woven into each event for a truly local connection.

Q4: How has your hotel positioned itself as a leader in the meetings industry?
Kimpton BEM Budapest positions itself as the best meeting hotel in Buda, with a large car parking in the building. We focus on curated, high-impact events over volume in two large meeting rooms, one with a full LED wall-to-wall display.
Q5: What are the biggest challenges and opportunities you foresee in the industry over the next three years?
The industry must address the rising demand for sustainability and hybrid experiences while maintaining the human connection that live events deliver. Luckily, we are a LEED Gold-certified property and also in the top ten of the Low Carbon Pioneer Program hotels of IHG.
Q6: How do you engage with international event organisers and decision-makers to showcase your hotel?
On top of IHG’s tools, we actively participate in global MICE trade shows and maintain close collaboration with Hungarian (top 200 companies) and international partners. Personalised outreach and immersive site visits remain key tools in converting interest into lasting partnerships.

Q7: How is your hotel innovating in the business events sector?
We blend smart technology with human-centric hospitality, offering everything from seamless digital check-ins to modular event spaces with integrated AV solutions. Beyond that, our new meeting room with a wall-to-wall LED display is one of a kind in the entire country.
Q8: What sustainable practices have you integrated to make meetings and events more environmentally responsible?
Sustainability is embedded in all Kimpton operations—from eliminating single-use plastics to utilising solar panels and energy-efficient heat pumps, using recycled materials for FF&E, etc. Event catering sources local, seasonal ingredients, and we encourage guests to reduce food waste through mindful menu planning and using QR codes. We also partner with environmentally responsible local vendors and promote low-impact transportation options, naturally.
Q9: How do you balance heritage and modernity to create an appealing business tourism experience?
The property itself is a newly built heritage site of 8 floors (5 top and 3 below), infused with cutting-edge design and contemporary comforts. We honour the building’s original elegance outside while offering all the expectations of modern luxury, designed by the renowned Marcel Wanders. This harmony between old and new resonates strongly with modern business travellers looking for more than functionality—they seek narrative, style, and cultural immersion.

Q10: How do you support local businesses, suppliers, and venues in growing their appeal for international meetings?
We always prioritise local partnerships—from artisanal food and beverage suppliers to local AV providers and cultural performers. Events at Kimpton BEM often feature curated local touches, supporting small businesses while offering guests an authentic Budapest experience. These collaborations enrich our offering and strengthen the city’s wider MICE ecosystem.
Q11: What initiatives do you have in place to ensure long-term growth in the MICE sector?
We invest continuously in technology and sustainability practices and work closely with Hungary’s and Budapest’s tourism authorities to align with the city’s development strategies. Our tailored approach to event hosting allows for scalability while maintaining intimacy and quality, ensuring repeat business and strong word-of-mouth growth.
Q12: What advice would you give to hotels looking to elevate their profile in the meetings industry?
Authenticity and adaptability are essential, and never stop following the current trend. We are also a proud new member of SHE Travels, which supports single female travellers, including for business purposes.
