ICC Sydney’s Travis Henry has been recognised through the AIPC Future Shapers program for co-developing an award-winning, data-driven training platform set to transform global convention centre performance.

Driving progress in the global business events industry, the International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney), managed by ASM Global, continues to lead through innovation and collaboration.At the recent AIPC Congress in Shenzhen, China, the ‘Synergy’ team—comprising representatives from Belfast, Cape Town, Kuala Lumpur, and ICC Sydney—was honoured for developing a cutting-edge, venue-led training platform.

The ‘Synergy’ solution harnesses real-time data, feedback, and booking trends to deliver tailored learning modules that align individual growth with organisational goals, unlocking the full potential of convention centres and their teams.

Travis Henry’s accolade builds on ICC Sydney’s ongoing success in the AIPC Future Shapers program, which nurtures emerging leaders in venue management. It highlights the centre’s dedication to advancing industry best practices, building global networks, and delivering impactful events on the world stage.

This accolade builds on ICC Sydney’s history of success in the AIPC Future Shapers program. Each year since its launch, team members from ICC Sydney have joined the initiative. In 2024, Gabriella Alberici represented the venue as Senior Manager, Business Development – Corporate, Government & Events.

In 2023, Dana Fish and Sathyan Chandrasekhar were both selected to participate. Dana is Senior Manager, Business Development, National Associations. Sathyan is the venue’s Financial Controller. In 2022, Sandra Rae, Senior Manager – Public Relations, also joined the leadership program. These appointments reflect ICC Sydney’s ongoing investment in talent and leadership development.

The AIPC Future Shapers program is a leadership development initiative aimed at accelerating the development of high-achieving individuals in the venue management industry. It’s a seven-month program designed to equip senior managers with the skills and knowledge to become future leaders and innovators in the field.
