For the third time, the Vienna Convention Bureau has successfully secured the Congress of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) – Europe’s largest event in its field – for Vienna. From 30 September to 3 October 2026, more than 17,000 medical professionals, researchers and specialists will gather at the Austria Centre Vienna to discuss the latest developments in dermatology and venereology.

This acquisition marks a significant success for the Vienna Convention Bureau (VCB) at the Vienna Tourist Board and is the result of long-standing, continuous dialogue with the organisers. In a trusted partnership with the Austria Centre Vienna, the EADV Congress will be held in Vienna for the third time. Organised by the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, the congress has a long history in Vienna, having first taken place in the city in 2007, and again in 2016. Scheduled editions in 2020 and 2021 were cancelled due to the pandemic. In autumn 2026, the EADV will return to Vienna for a four-day congress.

Anita Paic, Head of the Vienna Convention Bureau, commented: “Vienna’s success in hosting major international congresses is built on close and trusted collaboration between all local stakeholders – from the city and its institutions to venues and the scientific community. The return of the EADV Congress is a testament to this unique spirit of cooperation. We are honoured to once again welcome the global dermatology community to Vienna and look forward to supporting the organisers in creating a truly memorable and impactful event.”

Europe’s leading congress for dermatology and venereology

The European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) was founded as a non-profit association on 3 October 1987 in Luxembourg and is now headquartered in Switzerland. The first EADV Congress was held in 1989 in Florence, with over 3,000 participants. Today, the EADV has more than 11,000 members worldwide and is committed to advancing clinical care, research, education, and training in dermatology and venereology. The congress focuses on the presentation of scientific findings through symposia, hands-on workshops, and plenary lectures. By sharing the latest diagnostic and therapeutic approaches, the congress plays a key role in shaping the future of dermatology and promoting international collaboration and global knowledge exchange.
