The Zhangjiang Science Hall will host the new Tomorrow.City Shanghai from September 2 to 6. Organised by Fira de Barcelona, the event builds on the legacy of Smart City Expo editions held around the world. It aims to establish itself as a benchmark for smart cities in the Asia-Pacific region. With a congress programme featuring 100 renowned experts and more than 10,000 m² of exhibition space, the event will foster debate, knowledge exchange, and business opportunities among key players in urban transformation across the region.
Organised by Fira de Barcelona, Tomorrow.City Shanghai is supported by the Municipal Government of China’s economic capital. Held under the slogan “Challenge and Solution“, the event once again brings together a congress and an exhibition area. It is structured around five key pillars: City Challenge (real-world challenges), City Dialogue (conversations among urban stakeholders), City Awards (recognition of best practices), City Solution (presentation of tangible solutions), and Citys Go (implementation and action). These pillars are framed within four main thematic areas: technology (Tomorrow.Technologies), mobility (Tomorrow.Mobility), environment (Tomorrow.Environment), and public services (Tomorrow.Utilities).

The conference segment will feature over 100 speakers and around 30 round tables and debates. Among the internationally prominent participants are: Aisha Bint Butti Bin Bishr, a digital transformation expert and former leader of the Smart Dubai initiative; Anas Meerza, CEO of National Technology Enterprises, a Kuwaiti company specialising in technology transfer; Lucy García Montes, Governor of the Department of Sucre in Colombia; and Vandeth Chea, Cambodia’s Minister of Post and Telecommunications.
The exhibition area at Tomorrow.City Shanghai will span 10,000 m², hosting over 200 exhibitors—including providers of products, services, and technologies, as well as cities themselves—who will showcase real-world solutions already being implemented across the globe. The event will also feature dedicated networking spaces where metropolitan areas can present their most pressing challenges directly to technology companies capable of addressing them.
Finally, Tomorrow.City Shanghai will feature the City Awards, which celebrate best practices in smart city development and aim to position these cities as global role models. The 2025 edition has three finalists—Guangzhou, Changchun, and Hong Kong—selected for their demonstrated leadership and holistic vision of urban transformation.
