For the second time in a row, Prague Airport won the prestigious Routes World Award in the category of airports with 10 to 20 million passengers handled per year. In this year’s shortlist, it beat the airports of Edinburgh, Calgary, Indianapolis, and San Antonio. The award, which resulted from representatives of airlines’ decision, reflects the airport’s results in the development of air connections, marketing support and overall cooperation between the airport and carriers.

Already including a successful defence from last year, Prague Airport won the fourth Routes World Award in its history. An expert jury consisting of representatives of the airlines thus appreciated this year’s marketing activities of the airport towards its business partners and the public. The evaluation also included how the airport approaches their requirements within the framework of daily cooperation, as well as the processing of data analyses for the development of air connections and the overall building of mutual relations.

“To receive this prestigious award for the second time in a row is an exceptional achievement for us and, at the same time, a strong signal that our work has a long-term and internationally recognised impact. First of all, I would like to thank all my colleagues and partners from the ranks of the airline for their trust and support. Defending our leadership in such strong competition confirms the quality of our approach to the development of air connections and cooperation with carriers,” says Jiří Vyskoč, Executive Director of Aviation Business Development at Prague Airport.

“It is the result of the everyday commitment of the entire team and also the long-term above-standard business relationships that we build together. This year, we have also managed to expand our offer of destinations, to bring in new airlines and increase frequencies on key routes. This award is not only a confirmation of our right direction for us, but also a strong motivation to continue our work with even greater energy and vision,” adds Jiří Vyskoč.

In cooperation with carriers, Prague Airport opened connections to 18 new destinations during 2025. In six cases, these are new long-haul routes: to Toronto, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Beirut, Marrakech, and a charter line to the Maldives. This year, there has been a further increase in the capacity offered on 88 routes, i.e. an increase in the number of frequencies or the deployment of a more capacious aircraft.

This is the fourth time in its history that Prague Airport has received the Routes World Award. This year, the jury particularly praised the airport’s marketing activities aimed at business partners and the public. The close coordination with airlines in day-to-day operations, the use of data analysis for route expansion and the continuous development of long-term relationships were also rated positively.

This year, Prague Airport added 18 new destinations to its flight schedule, including six long-haul connections to Toronto, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Beirut, Marrakesh and a charter service to the Maldives. Capacity was further increased to a total of 88 routes through more frequent flights or larger aircraft.
