Following the successful launch of the Hilton Costabella Resort over the past four years, Czech investor Jaroslav Trešnak is now turning his attention to the next phase of his investment. He plans to build a congress centre for 1,000 people on land with views of Costabella. This will be Rijeka’s first major venue for both congresses and cultural events.
Rijeka lacks a congress centre
To gain a foothold in the global events market, Rijeka desperately needs a hall for cultural events. The plan envisages a congress hall for about 1,000 people, with the flexibility to be divided into smaller spaces.
“Even when planning the construction of this hotel, we had in mind a congress centre that would provide added value not only to the hotel but also to the entire destination, which has already significantly extended the season, and that’s why we had the full support of the city.”

High occupancy
The convention centre is a significant step that will also increase the profitability of the hotel itself, explains the investor. “We made an effort to provide an offer that does not exist in this part of the Adriatic, from the top-notch gastronomic offer in a Michelin-starred restaurant to a large branded wellness and fitness centre.”
