The hotel equivalent of the Michelin Star
The Michelin Key is considered the hotel equivalent of the Michelin Star – a hallmark of establishments offering an experience that goes beyond accommodation to express a true sense of identity and excellence. Out of more than 7,000 hotels worldwide rigorously evaluated by Michelin inspectors, only 143 earned three keys, 572 two and 1,742 one – placing Slovenia’s six honorees among the most remarkable properties on the global stage.

Each recognised hotel stands out for its distinct character, impeccable service and design excellence. Michelin inspectors assess hotels based on five pillars of quality:
– Architectural and interior design excellence
– Quality and consistency of service
– Character and individuality
– Value for money
– Contribution to the destination and local environment
