On 20–21 January 2026, the city of City Destinations Alliance (CityDNA) will host the inaugural 1st CityDNA CVB Expert Meeting at Grand Hôtel Wiesler. The objective: to gather professionals working in convention and visitor bureaus (CVBs) from across Europe — whether members of CityDNA or not — and provide them with a dedicated forum for exchange, reflection and peer learning.

In a time when CVBs face shifting demands, rising competition and increasing complexity in the meetings and events industry, the new Expert Meeting aims to fill a gap: there are currently few spaces tailored specifically for CVB professionals to “step back, connect … and evolve.”

Hosted in Graz — a city praised for its collaborative spirit and human-scaled urban culture — the event promises to combine professional substance with a relaxed, collegial atmosphere. The detailed programme sets out a clear and action-oriented agenda, designed to encourage active peer engagement rather than passive listening.

Day 1 kicks off with a welcome from CityDNA and a short introduction to the goals and flow of the gathering. That will be followed by sessions focusing on the “value and impact of Ambassador Programmes” — exploring best practices and real-life experiences from various destinations.

Day 2 shifts to a more data-driven perspective: participants will dive into how to leverage data to inform smarter strategic decisions for their CVBs — a timely theme given fast-evolving market conditions

With the launch of the 1st CityDNA CVB Expert Meeting in Graz, the meetings industry gains a new kind of gathering — one tailored not to high-level executives only, but to those who shape, manage and steer convention bureaus in their daily operations.
