ICCA has signed a landmark partnership agreement with Beijing Capital Group Exhibitions & Events to co-develop a new three-level professional education certification programme designed specifically for China’s fast-growing business events sector.
The Certified International Business Events Professional (CIBEP) programme will introduce international standards, foundational industry knowledge, and practical skills to emerging and mid-level talent across China. By combining ICCA’s global expertise with localised practices, case studies and experiences created by Beijing Capital Group Exhibitions & Events, the initiative aims to build a stronger, more competitive workforce and support the long-term development of China’s business events ecosystem.

Beijing Capital Group Exhibitions & Events will develop supplementary content tailored to Chinese market needs, and manage programme design, delivery and marketing.
Ms. Jie Liang, General Manager of Beijing North Star Company Limited, said: “Our collaboration with ICCA to develop the CIBEP curriculum system is fundamentally aimed at empowering the growth of business events (BE) professionals in Beijing and across China, and enhancing the global competitiveness of China’s BE industry. The curriculum system deeply integrates cutting-edge international theories with local Chinese practices, with the goal of systematically cultivating industry talent equipped with global perspectives and professional expertise. Leveraging ICCA’s global industry resources and professional strengths, this partnership will inject strong momentum into the professionalisation and international expansion of China’s business events sector, further elevating China’s position in the global BE industry.”
The CIBEP programme is designed to provide:
– Foundational training for individuals entering the business events industry
– Upskilling opportunities for early- and mid-career professionals
– Alignment with global standards while reflecting the unique characteristics of China’s business events landscape
Learners who successfully complete the programme will be recognised as having achieved a professional standard compatible with further international training.
