In the first nine months of the year, most foreign visitors came from Germany (730,931), the United States (371,492), and the United Kingdom (359,179). Arrivals from Asia also saw strong growth, reaching 720,276 visitors, up 12% year on year, driven largely by new direct flights. Among Asian markets, Israel (133,597) and South Korea (133,200) topped the list, with rising numbers also from Japan, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
Domestic travellers made up a steady fifth of the total, with 1,144,454 Czechs visiting the capital this year, most during the summer holidays.

According to STR, which monitors trends in the hotel market, average occupancy in Prague’s hotels reached 75% in the first three quarters of the year. The average room rate rose by €3 year on year to more than €117 per night (around CZK 2,900), putting Prague close to the levels of Vienna and Budapest. As in the previous year, about two-thirds of visitors stayed in four- and five-star hotels, confirming the city’s continued move towards higher-end tourism.
