INTRO

Czech cubism was an avant-garde architectural style that flourished in Prague in the early 20th century. By incorporating geometric shapes, illusions, diagonal lines, and perforated materials, Czech cubism architects, including Josef Gočár, sought to break the mould and design buildings that stood out from most Art Nouveau facades. Even today, the marvels of the so-called Czech Art Deco, such as the Black Madonna House or the Palác Adria, beckon guests and art connoisseurs to appreciate the style. But the rondocubism still captures the imagination of architects today. Prague’s ultra-modern Cubex Centre is a case in point.

Inaugurated in 2018, Cubex Centre Prague, tucked away in the Trimaran office building in Prague 4, is a state-of-the-art mid-sized conference centre that pays homage to the iconic Czech cubism architecture. More importantly, the conference centre was built to meet the needs of today’s event planners seeking a flexible venue that prioritises sustainability, transparency, and contemporary design. Far from the classic dull design of most conference centres, Cubex offers an event haven, away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Together with the adjacent City Conference Centre and Panorama Hotel Prague, it offers the perfect location for effortless events and lodging. It has found a loyal audience of international brands that appreciate its geometric, open design, the option for privatisation, and the unmatched flexibility of its halls.

LOCATION

Thanks to its unique location, close to the motorway, yet far enough from the hectic traffic in the heart of Prague, it is ideal for hosting events in a business-oriented environment.

The Pankrác district in Prague 4 was once a suburban district dotted with brutalist-style residential buildings. Its panorama began to change towards the end of the previous century when it slowly developed from a sleepy suburb with its local Pankrácká tržnice (vegetable market) into a business district dotted by skyscrapers. The UNESCO World Heritage Committee protested the construction of the high-rises, stating they would mar the skyline of Prague. The developers still went ahead with the projects, but reduced the height of the skyscrapers. Today, this district is a buzzing business area thanks to several co-working companies, international corporations and banks, including Raiffeisenbank. In this lively district, easily accessible by metro line C, Cubex Centre Prague found its home. It sits in the very heart of the new business area, overlooking a lush park, the unmistakable lemon-coloured Panorama Hotel, and numerous newly constructed buildings. In addition, it is within walking distance of the modern Arkády Pankrác, a three-storey shopping centre.

Even before opening in 2018, the Trimaran building was designed with sustainability in mind. From energy-efficient technical equipment and rainwater collection to digitalisation and in-house catering, the building earned the coveted LEED Platinum certification. Thanks to its unique location, close to the motorway, yet far enough from the hectic traffic in the heart of Prague, it is ideal for hosting events in a business-oriented environment.

ACCESSIBILITY

Prague has one of the best organised and most affordable public transport systems in Central Europe. Its metro lines (A, B, and C) connect the city’s districts, and thanks to an intuitive, user-friendly map, any visitor will quickly find their way. The city will soon welcome the D line that will connect Prague 4 and Prague 12. Prague is also one of the best-connected destinations in Central Europe. Prague Airport has been experiencing record growth in recent years, with burgeoning connections and a new terminal in sight. The Cubex Centre is thirty minutes away from Prague Airport. Once here, guests can rely on the Swiss-like trams and buses. Cubex Centre Prague is within spitting distance of the recently renovated Pankrác metro station, offering superb accessibility for event organisers and attendees. By metro, the city centre is just 15 minutes away. For more demanding guests, taxis are another excellent alternative. They abound in Prague, from Bolt to Uber, and are incredibly affordable.

Thanks to the city’s excellent air and road accessibility and its proximity to the motorway, Cubex Centre Prague has the edge over its competitors.

While the metro and tram work flawlessly, cycling is a perilous endeavour. Although there are tidy cycling paths near Vyšehrad, the rest of the city lacks the apt infrastructure. Walking on foot, especially along the Vltava River, is another story, though. Attendees who want to get their daily step count in can saunter all the way to the city centre and admire the iconic Vyšehrad, the Dancing House, and the Opera along the way. Upon arrival, guests will find themselves in a business district where everything is within a stone’s throw – from the shopping centre, local artisan coffee bars, to restaurants. Cubex Centre Prague is somewhat hidden, its sleek urban design obscured by the towering, eye-catching glass of the neighbouring skyscrapers. Yet once you find the entrance, you will be impressed by the entry area with green installations, cubism-inspired seating, and decor made from sustainable materials. Guests arriving by car can park in the spacious parking garage at the nearby shopping centre, which is minutes from the venue. Thanks to the city’s excellent air and road accessibility and its proximity to the motorway, Cubex Centre Prague has the edge over its competitors.

COLD APPETISER - Architecture and Aesthetics

The design was helmed by the Czech architectural studio 4a arhitekti. As soon as you set foot inside, the geometrical-shaped elements hint at the connection to Czech cubism. Walking up from the steps to the first floor, the media wall shines in all its splendour; here, brands can showcase their products and services or use it as a livestream platform. The grand foyer is ideal for receptions and networking lunches, or dinners. Although all halls are on the same level, the flexible design makes it easy to find your way to the meeting rooms that double as breakout rooms, or to the main hall, which can be further divided into three parts.

The geometrical shapes are omnipresent – from the seating areas, tables, to the lights on the ceiling.

The entire Trimaran office building lives in symbiosis – it functions as a beehive, and not just because of its rooftop hive, home to a colony of bees, but because of the amalgam of office-goers and event attendees who mix here. The building also houses a gym, office spaces, a cafe and a restaurant. It is impressive how well Cubex Centre Prague blends in with the surrounding area.

WARM APPETISER – Staff and customer service

The staff at the Cubex Centre Prague are welcoming and take pride in working at Prague’s most advanced and modern conference centre. They make attendees feel welcome and help them with any queries. They also exude pride in their connection to Czech cubism. One of the hotel’s trump cards is its cooperation with local suppliers, including Incatering. They include local and seasonal ingredients in their gastronomy. Thanks to this excellent cooperation, the conference centre also gives back to the local community. That makes their initiatives regenerative.

With a nothing-is-impossible approach, Cubex Centre Prague’s team is an inspiring example of Czech innovation.

The technical side of the venue is peerless. Thanks to an experienced in-house technical team, the venue can confidently host any classic conference. For more demanding festivals and large-scale events with demanding production, they rely on the flawless service of AV MEDIA EVENTS. With a nothing-is-impossible approach, Cubex Centre Prague’s team is an inspiring example of Czech innovation.

MAIN COURSE – Quality of facilities

Imagine a cube-like meeting hall with a capacity of 1,000 attendees, a modular, flexible design, and state-of-the-art technology. While this may have become the norm in countries that have long invested in the events industry, Cubex Centre Prague was a trailblazer in the Czech Republic. Even after eight years, the main hall remains strikingly modern, with adjustable lighting, sound, seating, layout, and presentation options. The conference centre has extensive experience hosting conferences and summits, corporate parties, immersive festivals, gala dinners, and even automotive events. At the end of 2025, the venue hosted an exclusive launch event for the new Lexus ES. Automotive events can take place here without an issue thanks to a spacious freight lift.

What truly sets the venue apart is the technology.

The Chameleon concept lighting system features over 325 metres of ceiling-mounted LED light strips and unlimited colour combinations. An event at Cubex is also an immersive experience thanks to the 360° panoramic projection. On top of that, the venue has a spacious media wall, measuring 100 square metres. Set in the main foyer, the media wall can serve as a blank canvas for digital branding or real-time livestreaming content. Event organisers can also make use of the recently expanded LED Wall and table mapping that elevates the attendee experience. For demanding events and productions, Cubex partners with AV MEDIA EVENTS, one of the leading companies in the field. Together with the adjoining meeting rooms and the capacities in the Conference Centrum City, the venue can host up to 1,700 attendees. That means it punches well above its weight. Unlike many other conference centres with generic design and soulless decor, the Cubex Centre embarked on a different path. Their hall is impressive, full of detail, colourful, and, perhaps most importantly, flexible. Unsurprisingly, Cubex has hosted a slew of remarkable events.

DESSERT – Catering and additional offer

Sustainability is front and centre at Cubex Centre Prague. Set in one of the rare LEED platinum–certified buildings in Prague, the venue uses 100% renewable energy and has installed advanced water- and waste-management systems. Admirable signs in the toilets remind guests that the water they flush is rainwater. The lights dim automatically, reducing electricity use by half. Although Prague’s recycling is not exemplary, it is certainly praiseworthy at Cubex. Thanks to paper and plastic recycling, the venue diverts over 75% of waste from landfills. Not least, the venue is proud to host the annual Sustainability Summit in the Czech Republic. Their communication of sustainable practices is commendable and should set an example for other venues.

FLOP – NEGATIVE SURPRISES

The restrooms are not on the same storey as the main hall. This reduced accessibility, paired with somewhat unclear labelling, complicates the layout for attendees. Still, we must acknowledge that the venue is fully accessible to all.

TOP – POSITIVE SURPRISES

Event attendees often want convenience and everything to be at hand. When attending an event at Cubex Centrum Praha, they can enjoy just that. Thanks to a partnership with the nearby shopping centre, they often enjoy special discounts in select bars, restaurants and shops. After a long conference, participants can enjoy refreshments or a shopping haul right after it concludes.

FINAL IMPRESSION AND CREDIBILITY

Cubex Centre Prague is a singular conference centre that was voted the world’s best new venue by Eventex in 2019. Even after eight years since opening, the venue keeps in step with the times and trends. Modular design, immersive LED screens, AI integration, and a story that weaves local identity into the architecture help this venue stand head and shoulders above competitors. Its appealing location in a modern business district, great accessibility and flexible layout have been turning heads of international event organisers.

Cubex sets sustainability and design standards for conference venues of this size.

The main hall is its centrepiece – a marvel of technical design that elevates events with its unique LED lights, audiovisual technology and media wall. Cubex Centre Prague also cooperates with local suppliers and has implemented sustainable measures rarely seen in venues of this size. While many visit Prague only to see the imposing Prague Castle or the Astronomical Clock, event planners have been flocking to a conference centre that has been setting sustainability and design standards for the industry.
