Denis Flanagan has served on the IACC European Board since January 2020 and held the role of Vice Chair during 2024 and 2025. His appointment as European Chair reflects his extensive leadership across the hospitality and meetings sector, as well as his long-standing contribution to the organisation. In his new role, he will also join the IACC Global Board, helping to shape strategic direction at an international level.
The appointment is a significant achievement for NHS Golden Jubilee, further elevating the profile of its hotel and conference facilities on the global stage. Among UK conference venues, the Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel plays a unique role, generating vital commercial income reinvested directly into frontline NHS services.
Denis’s leadership position within IACC will enhance the visibility of the hotel internationally, positioning it alongside world-leading venues and opening new opportunities to attract global organisations, industry leaders and high-profile events to Scotland.
As Chair, Denis will focus on driving innovation across the meetings and events sector, expanding educational and professional development opportunities for members, and strengthening collaboration between IACC venues across Europe and globally.
His new role will also support greater knowledge sharing and best practices across the IACC community. This will enable the Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel to both contribute to and benefit from global insight on leadership, sustainability and innovation. It will reinforcing its position as a high-quality conference and events destination while delivering wider benefits for the NHS.
