CULTURAL AND SOCIAL HUB
Ribnica has inaugurated a new landmark, the Ribnica Urban Centre, a multifunctional cultural and social hub poised to become the heart of communal life in the municipality. The project, with a footprint of approximately 4,000 square metres and an overall investment exceeding €10 million, is a vital addition to the local events landscape.
At the centre of the complex stands a state-of-the-art cultural hall with seating for 300 guests, equipped with advanced technical infrastructure to support theatre, music, cinema and other performance formats. The venue’s versatility extends to a smaller chamber hall that seats up to 80 attendees, providing flexibility for congresses, lectures, and community gatherings.
Complementing these principal halls are a spacious gallery lobby with an integrated café, dedicated spaces for intergenerational programming, rehearsal and practice rooms, and modern offices suitable for co-working and business use. A two-level underground parking garage supports increased visitor volume and enhances accessibility.
A catalyst for cultural exchange and community collaboration
Officials and community representatives present at the inauguration highlighted the hub’s role as a shared asset for Ribnica and its surrounding region. In the months ahead, a full calendar of cultural and educational events is anticipated to activate the space and foster public interaction across age groups and interests. Above all, the facilities are designed to support creative industries, start-ups and civic organisations.
