They have officially gained the organization of the European Congress of thoracic surgeon (ESTS) 2018 which will be held from 27th to 30th May 2018 in Ljubljana.
The ESTS is a professional association of thoracic surgeons in Europe, founded in 1993 with mission to improve quality in clinical and surgical management of patients, education, training and credentialing of thoracic surgeons in Europe and worldwide. This year’s the 25th European Conference on General Thoracic Surgery will be held in Innsbruck, Austria from 28th to 31st May 2017.
CD Congress Centre Ljubljana which is a part of Cankarjev dom, cultural and congress centre, filed candidacy for 2018 and 2019 congress and won for organization of the 2018 congress, among the competitor congress destination such as Hungary and Krakow (Poland). This is without a doubt a great achievement for Slovenian congress industry which is becoming more and more attractive for organization of congresses and different kind of events and CD Congress Centre Ljubljana confirms their role as a central Slovene congress centre with the highest number of international congresses. It also marks a high recognition of Slovenian thoracic surgeon profession and has an enormous importance for the development of the profession.
Surely this congress will be one of the major conferences in Slovenia in 2018 and for this reason they have reserved the entire Cankarjev dom, cultural and congress centre, since they expect an extremely high turnout with attracting around 2,000 participants who will get to know also some of the other advantages and beauties of the Slovenian capital, which has been present on the international association meetings market for more than thirty years and can be regarded as an established, yet fresh congress destination.
