Carinthia Convention Bureau is organizing a unique culinary event on 20th April 2017 at Paviljon – Jurček Hall, GR-Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre, with goal to present the Slovenian meeting planners and companies that organize different events also outside Slovenia, the best hotels and special venues in Carinthia. Certainly, the best way to learn and get to know the numerous possibilities Carinthia region offers and get some new and special ideas for event organization.
Carinthia region is a fairy tale like environment that offers numerous and some unusual event locations, first class conference centres, quality and professional MICE offer. The proximity to Slovenia is a perfect advantage and opportunity for meeting planners, based on their offer which is a successful mix of business and pleasure. Slovenia and Carinthia are not close just geographically, but also through the professionalism, hospitality and cuisine, an important element of each successful event, and with that reason, the Carinthia Convention is organizing the “Meetings without borders” event in Ljubljana.
“Meetings without borders” event is organised for Slovenian meeting planners, event organisers, companies and agencies, who are looking for interesting venues for the seminars, conferences, business meetings, incentives and teambuilding events. Creativity in the cuisine has no borders and the same is with the meetings. The event will join two renowned Chefs Igor Jagodic and Thomas Gruber, who will show the participants how meetings can connect and network through gastronomy.
Thomas Gruber: FRESH-NATURAL-PURISTIC-REGIONAL
The main characteristic of the “Gasthaus von Thomas Gruber« at the lake Wörthersee is the regional cuisine, where different cultures and genuine dishes/origins from Slovenia, Italy and Carinthia meets. Eating and drinking together becomes the indispensable experience factor. Thomas Gruber is not following the culinary mainstream, so instead of great gourmet menus, you will find dishes with heart and mind. He gained knowledge and experience for many years in the most prestigious restaurants and hotels in the States, France, Italy and Austria. In 2013, he opened his own restaurant “Gasthaus von Thomas Gruber”.
Igor Jagodic: LOCAL-INNOVATIVE-TRENDY-PRESTIGIOUS
Igor Jagodic is the chef of Strelec Restaurant at Ljubljana Castle, pampering foreign and local guests with the typical Ljubljana dishes made in a modern way. His cuisine is based on the modern French cuisine combined with the local ingredients, colours, etc. … Curiosity lead him abroad, from France to Germany and further to Copenhagen, where he got experiences in the Noma restaurant. He prides himself with the awards from international competitions, where he was a part of Slovenian Chefs Team. For the second time in a row Restaurant Strelec got the »Ljubljana Quality« award for the best restaurant in Ljubljana.
