The Global Sport Tourism Summit which took place at WTM London on Monday 7th November 2016 included a Sport Tourism Award Competition, where on November 7, 2016, Bled was selected as the best sport tourism town for 2017 from amongst more than 100 applicants.
The Global Sport Tourism Town 2017, a designation awarded to a city that is considered to be delivering an integrated sports tourism town destination approach (therefore) represents the potential of diverse sports experience and customer satisfaction, but above all, the vision of the sustainable touristic development of Bled.
The first Sport Tourism Awards of their kind aim to recognise and reward innovation and achievement in sport tourism from across the world and Bled diversity of sports activities in integrated nature resort proves that the vision of presenting the touristic destination, including attractive events has made outstanding contribution to the sport tourism industry and is acknowledged in front of a global audience of sport tourism influencers and practitioners.
