CD congress Centre is a premiere venue in Slovenia. Constructed in 1980 it has always been a place to go to when a meeting had to be organised. Located in the heart of the capital CD Congress Centre offers easy accessible, stress free and logistically easy working environment with a possibility of welcoming up to 5,000 attendees at the same time.

Myriad of successfully implemented events in over 35 years of operation. Among them:

Without CD Congress Centre Ljubljana and their team the Slovenian meetings industry would probably not be what it is today. CD Congress Centre Ljubljana is not suitable only for large but an excellent choice for small and medium scale meetings as well. One of the advantages is the connection with culture. In CD Congress Centre Ljubljana the cultural-artistic programme and congress activity have been excellently complementing each other at all times of operation. Cankarjev Dom boasts 22 multi-purpose conference halls and represents the largest purpose-built convention centre in Slovenia. A big advantage is the diversity of spaces for different convention needs. The largest hall, Gallus, with 2,000 seats, is still today the concept of extraordinary acoustics and is the only hall of this type in Slovenia (Auditorium). With extensive lobby exhibits it has already carried out a number of conferences with large accompanying exhibitions (up to 4,000 m2 of exhibition space). The renovation is now completed, all spaces are adapted to modern technological requirements, making them more useful, more comfortable and more beautiful.

CD Congress Centre is easily accessible on foot, by car (underground garage in the extension) or by public transport. All the city’s attractions, and especially the key hotels, are within walking distance. Ljubljana airport is just 22 km away. In these terms CD Congress Centre is a very friendly and nice location for conference guests.

LIFESTYLE

CD Congress Centre Ljubljana is the culprit that catering has established itself as a concept and type of service in Slovenia. For many years the main protocol events in the country were held at CD. It is not surprising that this part of the offer is exemplary, arranged with an excellent centre for the production and distribution of food. It seems that together with the institution the largest Slovenian catering companies have also grown – Jezeršek catering, Maxi and Vivo catering. Inspired by the national heritage, commitment to green, sustainability and social responsibility, the CD Congress Centre Ljubljana is also a pioneer of urban beekeeping in Slovenia. Its honey production has definitely influenced the catering possibilities providing a winning combination of a unique culinary experience.

Although the title originally comes from the British radio series it can be well used for this great incentive – an improvisational comedy show featured by the members of your team or a company. EXPLORATIONS

The congress centre is the work of architect Edo Ravnikar and is an integral part of his design for the Square of the Republic. It was created in the era of modernism and is considered a key example of monumental architecture, comparable with achievements of Alvar Aalto in the Finlandia convention centre. A number of smaller details are surprising, the most astounding the fact that the architecture of the building has preserved its value. The exemplary building maintenance is particularly impressive, as it is a rarity in comparable centres in Europe.
