[pullquote]This will be the biggest investment in for the Istrian tourism after the refurbishment of Kempinski Palace Portorož eight years ago.[/pullquote]Newly refurbished Hotel Slovenija operating under the first Slovenian international hotel chain LifeClass Hotels & Spa will open its door by the end of May 2016.
The Istrabenz Tourism group has long been preparing for the reconstruction of their central hotel in Portorož. The investment of nine million euro will turn this four-star hotel into a five-star one!
The facade and the interior will be changed completely to ensure a new look deserving of five stars. The hotel will henceforth have more than 140 large and comfortable rooms and two restaurants. The major renovations will be finished by May but some additional new features will also be added by the end of this year.
In autumn they plan to renovate the pool complex with heated sea water located between hotels Slovenija and Riviera and by the end of 2016 they plan to open the new winter thermal center. They will then connect the new complex and hotel Slovenija with the other five renewed LifeClass hotels and the swimming pool complex which was renovated just a year ago. With the combination of two modern swimming pool complexes with heated sea water and healing thermo-mineral complex, the medical-wellness offer and renovated hotel facilities with four and five stars, Portorož will be able to compete with the most modern winter thermal resorts in Europe.
