Central part will be in building Luxardo, one of the most recognizable symbols of Zadar, otherwise the seat of the former factory of liquor

Turkish Dogus Group is planning to open a new 5-star hotel in the heart of Zadar till 2018. A 50 million worth of investments in the luxury five-star hotel Maraska with 120 rooms was designed by an esteemed Austrian architect Boris Podrecca and its central part will be in building Luxardo, one of the most recognizable symbols of Zadar, otherwise the seat of the former factory of liquor.

Dogus Group already invested 350 million EUR in Croatia in the last seven years, mainly in hotels and marinas and the company has a stake in the ACI marina operator. Last year they opened the luxury D-Resort hotel in Šibenik and although it opened during the peak season, D-Resort Šibenik has exceeded all of their expectations and has become a recognisable destination for Croatian and foreign tourists.

Work on new hotel Maraska will start in autumn 2016 and should be completed by 2018. For first phase they plan to build the hotel and in the next phase a luxury residential complex with 80 apartments and a commercial zone including shops, restaurants and bars.

The hotel will be managed by an international luxury hotel chain Hyatt, but the hotel will keep the name Maraska and something else from Zadar and traditions. For Zadar hoteliers, the coming of a new international hotel chain as a manager of Hotel Maraska is off course a big news and something positive for Zadar tourism. With such a big brand name in tourism in Zadar they are expecting just benefits for the whole region and seeing new positioning of Zadar with such a quality offer for tourists.
