The boutique hotel Design Rooms Pr’ Gavedarjo is the first Slovenian Cultural Heritage hotel to receive the prestigious Travelife Gold Certificate for Sustainable tourism.
The Gold Certification awarded by Travelife – the International sustainability certification scheme designed by the travel industry – assesses a property’s performance in managing social, environmental and economic impacts.
Design Rooms Pr’ Gavedarjo is a restored and newly renovated boutique hotel on the border of Triglav National park and Julian Alps that has been owned and run by generations of the Gregori family for over 100 years. Recent renovations were completed with a modern approach, modern furnishings and appliances were seamlessly integrated with old restored family furniture and paintings that date back as far as 1913. They˝ve used all natural and local materials for renovations, such as waxed wood flooring, wood furniture, organic colours and materials. Beds, linen and towels are made of certified organic and fair trade certified materials. You will find organic amenities in your room as well as at a breakfast table.
The achievement of Travelife Gold Certification is a demanding process involving a total commitment towards environmental responsibility and long-term sustainability. The Design Rooms Pr’ Gavedarjo undertook an independent onsite audit to prove its compliance with the 150 key points of Travelife’s sustainability criteria. Working alongside the local community, Design Rooms Pr’ Gavedarjo clearly demonstrated measures that helped support local businesses and preserve the cultural traditions of the region.
