University students are receiving a healthy education in the fiercely competitive field of bidding for Business Events, thanks to Convention Bureaus who spearhead outreach activities such as the recent 2016 Malaysia Bid Challenge held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre in June.
The victors from Sunway University will receive the chance to attend the 55th International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) Congress – the world’s most influential congress in the Business Events profession – held at Kuching from 13th – 16th November 2016, courtesy of Sarawak Convention Bureau (SCB) and the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB).
The Sunway winning students Chia Hui Shin, Keila Putrikaklih Herawan and Ruby Nguyen Hong Ngoc represented the Centre for Tourism, Hospitality and Culinary Management of Sunway University and gave an outstanding bid presentation for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP).
Five teams were shortlisted to be in the final stage of the 2016 Malaysia Bid Challenge. Berjaya University’s College of Hospitality emerged as first runner up whereas Sunway University Team B, also from the Centre for Tourism, Hospitality and Culinary Management, took the 2nd runner up spot.
