There was 2 340 events of different size and focus organized during the first half of 2016 in Prague collective accommodation establishments, according to the statistics of the Czech Statistical Office. It is more than one-third of all events held in the Czech Republic for the same period. Conferences, congresses, corporate meetings and other events were attended by 273 548 participants.

According to the Prague Convention Bureau statistics based on members’ data, the most events took place in hotels. Czech Statistical Office’s statistics, dealing only with events held in collective accommodation establishments with more than 50 participants, shows that meeting planners prefer 4* and 3* hotels for their meetings.

Besides the basic data, Prague Convention Bureau tracks, analyzes and shares also numerous other, more detailed indicators. The statistics, for example, show that corporate meetings dominated among other types of events and that the size of the most meetings varies between 10 and 149 delegates. Speaking of the number of meetings held, June was the strongest month. Although the local events prevailed slightly over the international ones, the delegates were coming to Prague from all over the world – mostly from Germany, United Kingdom, USA and Austria. Among the key topics discussed were industry, pharmacy, IT and telecommunication.

PCB’s statistics are able to provide a comprehensive overview of Prague MICE industry thanks to the close cooperation with PCB’s members. Prague Convention Bureau team would like to thank all the members actively and regularly participating in the research for sharing the valuable figures with the aim to help promote the capital as an ideal congress destination.
