Great honor! Despite terror attacks and the BDS movement against Israel, the list of 10 best congress centers in 2017, published by the global business travel and tourism magazine “Business Destinations”, includes International Convention Center-ICC Jerusalem as one of the 10 world’s best congress centers.
Editors combined a number of parameters into selection process, such as: meeting the goals, services, customer experience, range of activities, number of visitors in recent years, an attractive geographical location and potential for development in the coming years.
According to Mira Altman, CEO of ICC Jerusalem, “This is great news. It shows the enormous potential of a large international convention center in Jerusalem and the great opportunity to significantly promote conference tourism in Israel.” In 2016 over half a million visitors took part in events held at ICC Jerusalem. This figure shows a huge potential for international conferences in Jerusalem, so the marketing efforts of the Ministry of tourism and Jerusalem Convention Bureau in bringing conventions to the city have to be enhanced.”

Mrs. Altman adds: “ICC was built in the ’50s thanks to the vision of Theodor Herzl to set up a large convention center for the Jewish people in Jerusalem. Figures such as Israeli first Prime Minister – David Ben-Gurion, the first president – Chaim Weizmann, Supreme Court President – Moshe Zamora and others, who signed the Founding Charter of ICC Jerusalem, were certainly proud to see how this magnificent institution maintains the vitality and progress. Even after dozens of years since its establishment ICC Jerusalem continues to be a major anchor of international conferences industry in Israel, to host an endless series of international and national events, which are connected to the global agenda, the global calendar and the Israeli experience. Every year we host hundreds of conventions, conferences, exhibitions and various events, were it not for the existence of the International Convention Center in Jerusalem, would never have come to Israel. “
