The event took place at the Royal Institution in London, a scientific education organisation founded in 1799, on Thursday 2nd March. Speakers included eminent Swiss scientists from the ISREC Foundation (Swiss Institute for Experimental Cancer Research), which has actively supported cancer research for more than 50 years; and the Vivactis Group, the world’s largest independent healthcare consulting, communications and marketing network.

Lausanne Tourism & Convention Bureau held the event in partnership with the SwissTech Convention Center, the Switzerland Convention & Incentive Bureau and the Sandoz Foundation (whose luxury hotel portfolio includes the Beau-Rivage Palace in Lausanne). As well as presentations highlighting why Lausanne is the Swiss scientific and medical capital, the evening took a lighter turn with a murder mystery themed dinner, where guests solved clues using forensic science props.

Olivier Mathieu, Congress and Meetings Manager at Lausanne Tourism & Convention Bureau, says: “This is the first time that we have brought such distinguished experts to the UK to help us promote Lausanne’s world-leading position as a superior location for scientific international conferences and events. With a 200 year history of promoting scientific education and research, the Royal Institution in London was the perfect venue to entertain our guests and show them what makes Lausanne exceptional.”
