The SGAIM’s Spring Conference usually attracts 3,000 delegates to discuss and debate specialist medical topics, as well as health policy and socio-political issues. The SwissTech Convention Center has three auditoria and a series of smaller spaces, delivering the level of flexibility required to offer delegates a wide range of interactive workshops, as well as create an extensive exhibition space.

Lausanne Tourism & Convention Bureau will support the conference organisers with a number of operational services, including accommodation coordination, Lausanne’s bespoke hotel booking platform, tourist activity documentation, and specific tailor-made support.

Uwe Fritz, Head of Events and Conferences at the Swiss Society of General Internal Medicine says: “Organising the SGAIM spring meeting again in Lausanne after six years is a great pleasure for us. On the one hand because of the beautiful city of Lausanne, located on the shores of Lake Geneva with a picturesque Alpine backdrop, and on the other hand we have the unique opportunity to organise the conference in the very modern, state-of-the-art SwissTech Convention Center. It’s stunning and futuristic architecture suits very well our main congress topic – ‘The future is now.’“

Olivier Mathieu, Congress and Meetings Manager at Lausanne Tourism & Convention Bureau, says: “SGAIM is the largest specialist medical association in Switzerland, and Lausanne’s leading position as a medical centre of excellence makes it the ideal place to host the conference. The SwissTech Convention Center also offers the large delegate capacity and room configuration flexibility that was required by SGAIM, something very few venues have. We look forward to welcoming the SGAIM Spring Conference delegates to Lausanne.”
