Copenhagen Convention Bureau is strenghtening its focus on the important British MICE market with hiring a new Head of Business Development UK/Europe by May 1st. The position is filled by Lene Corgan, who, as Head of Business Development, will be promoting Copenhagen to potential meetings- and congress buyers, create new relations, attend travel fairs, plan and execute meetings between the Copenhagen partners and potential buyers in Europe, especially in United Kingdom.

Lene Corgan lives in London, from where she will also have her work base. Over the last 10 years, Lene Corgan has worked as Business Events Manager, UK & Europe for Tourism Australia. Previously, she was Sales Manager MICE at Visit Denmark’s office in London. She is also chairperson of the Oysters-collaboration in London.

“Lene Corgan is first-rate in the field, whom can contribute to develop the congress and meeting business in Europe, but with a primary focus on the British market. UK is, after Germany, the largest European MICE market and likewise the market, that has generated most leads to Copenhagen in recent years,” says Mikkel Aarø-Hansen, CEO, Wonderful Copenhagen.

“I’m absolutely delighted to be joining Wonderful Copenhagen as Head of Business Development UK/Europe. Copenhagen is one of Europe’s most innovative business events destinations, a leading destination of creative meeting design and sustainable events and I am looking forward to working with the team and growing the business into Copenhagen from the UK/European markets,” says Lene Corgan.
