Opatija opens its new Culture and Tourist Centre Gervais

Gervais Culture and Tourist Centre investment is evaluated at 5.15 Million Euro

After some delays in work, the beautiful Opatija on Adriatic coast of Croatia opened its new Culture and Tourist Centre “Gervais”. Initial plan considered opening already in December 2016, but after some delays in their work, spring 2017 with fresh energy and new beginning welcomed first guest at the opening of Gervais centre. The construction of the centre began in Autumn 2015 and the investment value amounts to 5.15 Million Euro. The grand opening was marked with a “open door week” and a special concert of Uzbekistan opera diva Natalia Ushakova, accompanied by Opera Orchestra HNK Ivana pl. Zajc Rijeka and a concert of famous Croatian band Vatra in the disco club.

4.700 m2 big Gervais Culture and Tourist Centre will be used for public, commercial and social purposes with the building including the main hall on the first floor with a capacity of 500 seats and a big stage that can be used for various events and also other two floors with a divisible hall on the ground floor, and a multi-purpose basement floor that offer an additional spaces for organizing various events in terms of functionality and flexibility, including concerts, theatre performances, exhibitions and congresses.

With its location, right in the middle of Opatija and just a step away from many hotels and great restaurants near by the location is just ideal. Additionally, the Gervais centre basement area with 650 m² and totally independent entrance, is one of the biggest in the country and can host up to 1,000 guests.
