Lara Vodlan is Marketing and Communication Manager at Microsoft Slovenia and head of NT Conference. She tries to combine the best of events and digital marketing to build a solid business platform. With a rich history in culture events and many years in IT marketing, she is very experienced in combining the incompatible.


Q: What do you love about your job the most?

Working in marketing at Microsoft is an ongoing learning. With the numerous resources and company’s vital strategy there’s always something new to learn. If not in the field of marketing, someone comes up with a new reporting tool.

Q: Where do you see the biggest opportunity in marketing and MICE industry?

In digital. Trust me, there’s no other way and it works. I believe that magic happens where digital and in-person events meet.

Q: How do you deal with marketing jungle on daily basis?

With learning and embracing changes and clearly defined goals. If you know where you’re headed, you can even domesticate jungle animals to help you on the way.

Q: How did the best events you attended so far make you feel?

I was impressed by three things: Content. Content. Content.


Q: Looking at your bucket list, what is the one thing that you really wish to cross off until the end of 2017?

Camping at Lake Bohinj with my kids. I’m hoping for a hot summer.

Q: If you could have dinner with anyone (alive or dead), who would you have dinner with and why?

With Richard Branson. I would ask him who is managing his Twitter account.


Q: What would you share with our participants if you would have only one minute?

I’d like to convince the audience that you can digitally transform a 22 years old event.
