We spoke to Elena Bisio, CEO & Co-founder of Foody to tell us a bit more about what went into developing their platform and making it into a known name among travellers, local hosts and all gastronomy aficionados.
Q: What has inspired you to start the company?
I always wanted to do something on my own and I was really lucky that I’ve met my team. I have always had a great passion for tourism and food and when traveling I am always looking for a connection with the locals so that I could experience their city with their eyes. Needs of travellers were changing, food and wine tourism were growing and food became a factor when choosing a destination. Also, Italy is a great market for tourism, wine and food culture.
Q: What gets you out of bed in the morning?
My passion for my job and my team. I wake up happy, with a lot of energy and I am focused to reach my goals. Sometimes it is not easy due to a lot of challenges and stressful situations.
Q: What are your biggest challenges at the moment?
The biggest challenge for me and my team is testing our platform, receiving all the user feedback and find a way to grow in the market.
Q: If your startup was an animal, what would it be and why?
I would love to imagine Foody as a tiger, that is strong, passionate and not scared of challenges but ready to work hard to reach our goals. Is all about the mindset you have and the people you work with. I don’t see problems but opportunities, to grow, learn and execute faster.
