The 20th Slovenian wine Festival
The 20th Slovenian wine Festival was held on 17th and 18th of November in the Grand Hotel Union and Hotel Slon in the capital city of Slovenia, in Ljubljana. The festival, which was subtitled as the »Festival of all Festivals«, brought to life to what was considered as unfeasible – it brought together the Slovenian wine scene, which was developing, growing, breathing and living with and next to the festival. Next to the numerous invited winemakers, also the related wine events from all over Slovenia joined the event, which featured 20 years of wine events in Slovenia. This year the festival hosted over 200 winemakers – both domestic and foreign, in the two named hotels in the centre of Ljubljana.
The wine festival was also marked by culinary delights, as is the case for such an event. The main part of the culinary story was created by the chefs of the partner hotels (Grand Hotel Union, Hotel Lev, Hotel Central, Hotel Slon and Hotel Cubo), with the addition of partner salons with their culinary offer. Thus, at both locations, at least 20 culinary exhibitors presented themselves on both days of the festival.
The aim of the Slovenian Wine Festival is to present the wines of Slovenia and abroad and spread the culture of wine drinking – and their mission was accomplished for the 20th year in a row!

The new wine showcase has offered a home to more than 250 different wine labels. Of course, most of them are Slovenian wines, but also a great variety of foreign wines can be found there. Looking through the wine list, the wines from the France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Germany, South America, the United States, Australia and New Zealand can be found.
