At the end of October, more than 200 participants from 40 member associations of Europa Donna gathered in Ljubljana. It gave advocates key information and strategies to help them move from policy to achieving the provision of best practice in their countries.

The conference hosted countless experts who shared their views on research, breast imaging, and breast surgery, as well as insights into pro-innovative programmes in complementary medicine and survivorship. Over the two days of the conference, workshops were also held to share practical guidance on managing long-term survivorship, techniques in utilising research and social media for advocacy. There were also specific networking groups dedicated to young women with breast cancer, and those with metastatic breast cancer.

It is strongly believed and hoped that the boutique, green and charming capital, Ljubljana, in unity with the Grand Hotel Union, provided a peaceful and inspiring location for every attendee of the conference. It is also believed that attendees gained a lot of inspiration from the conference and that the theme ‘From Policy to Best Practice’ is already progressing at full speed!
