Maritim claimed the top spot in the premium hotels category in this year’s trust ranking in the magazine WirtschaftsWoche. For the fourth year in a row, the consultancy firm ServiceValue surveyed more than 275,000 customers about the brands and industries they trust the most. A total of 972 companies from 77 sectors were rated and, according to WirtschaftsWoche, the results were compiled exclusively from the answers given by real customers of the companies in question.

“For almost 50 years, vocational training and development, first-class service and warm hospitality have been of the utmost importance to Maritim Hotels. We are delighted that our exacting standards have now received recognition,” says Gerd Prochaska, Chief Operating and Human Resources Officer of Maritim Hotels.

“If our hotels get their performance and service right, then trust in the Maritim brand name increases. And, in business, success is built on trust. We’d, therefore, like to express our sincere thanks to our employees,” explains Gerd Prochaska. The owner-managed German hotel group also has more than 1,000 trainees at the 33 Maritim Hotels in Germany.

This makes Maritim Hotels one of the largest training providers in the hotel industry, and it was recently voted one of the best in Germany.

For the survey carried out by the talent platform Ausbildung.de, HR specialists and the business magazine Capital questioned around 12,000 businesses about their trainee-mentoring programmes, workplace learning, corporate commitment and employees’ career prospects. Maritim Hotels was one of 234 companies to achieve an excellent score of four or five stars and to be named “Top Trainer”.

Maritim has a range of opportunities for career entrants. Training is provided in the traditional hotel professions, in sales and in events technology. The dual training programme is complemented by modern teaching and learning methods such as e-learning, tutorials or business games. At the end of the formal training period, the Maritim Academy provides ongoing additional training and development, as well as career opportunities and prospects for individuals at nearly 50 Maritim Hotels worldwide.
“Over the decades, Maritim has earned an outstanding reputation for its training provisions, and the Maritim brand name convinces many young people to apply to us,” explains Gerd Prochaska.
The commitment is certainly paying off: in the Hotels – up to and including Premium category, Maritim Hotels achieved the accolade of “Best Service Quality 2017/18” from both TESTBILD magazine and the statistics portal statista. In the customer survey, hotels were ranked according to their accessibility, customer service, communication, professional expertise, the range of services, and customers’ willingness to recommend them.

“In 2019, we will be celebrating the company’s 50th anniversary. We are very proud, and optimistic about the future, now that Maritim Hotels has now been recognised several times for its achievements. Ultimately, the most important people in our business have given their verdict – our guests,” concludes Gerd Prochaska

Maritim Hotels is Germany’s largest owner-managed hotel group, and has hotels in six countries overseas: Mauritius, Egypt, Turkey, Malta, Spain and China. The group’s ongoing expansion continues to strengthen its position within the European first-class hotel industry. For more information, please visit www.maritim.com.
