Dubai Business Events, the city’s official convention bureau, has once again participated at IBTM World, showcasing the city’s latest offerings and forthcoming events throughout 2018. Held annually in Barcelona, the 2017 edition of IBTM World was attended by more than 3,000 exhibitors, making it one of the largest and most significant industry events.

Among the latest developments highlighted was the inaugural Dubai Association Conference, organised by the Dubai Association Centre, which is scheduled to take place from 11-12 December at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The Conference is the first of its kind in the region, and represents a landmark development for advancing the role played by associations in Dubai’s socio-economic development.

At IBTM World, Dubai Business Events also promoted the city’s role as the host of the 57th Congress of the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), which will be held in Dubai from 11 – 14 November 2018. Dubai Business Events recently received a formal handover from this year’s host city, Prague, launching the countdown to the 2018 event that will see approximately one thousand business event experts gather in Dubai.

Issam Kazim, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, said: “The business events industry plays a central role in our efforts to continue realizing sustainable economic diversification, and events such as IBTM World are a crucial part of that drive. By showcasing the city’s unique business events offerings and exciting attractions to global audiences – in addition to some of our major activities on the horizon – we have had another successful exhibition in Barcelona.”
