GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre (GR) has been for the first time hosting a B2B trade fair Smart Industry which is a quadruple fair of four specialized international trade fairs – IFAM, ROBOTICS, ICT4Industry and INTRONIKA. Smart Industry, organised by ICM Company, has been hosted in GR (one of the largest and most popular convention centres in Slovenia) between 13th and 15th of February. With this B2B trade fair, the GR is following its new and fresh approach to the fair season for the B2B trade fairs are this year’s novelty at the GR.

The purpose of the Smart Industry fair is to present Slovenian industry the latest products and solutions in the field of high technology, thus help it to develop as quickly as possible and to introduce cutting edge solutions in order to cope with challenges in the European and world’s market. The 75 exhibitors come from Slovenia, Austria, Croatia, Germany, Italy, Poland, and Serbia.

The greatest attraction of the fair has been the presentation of the most powerful robot in the world. The giant’s name is FANUC M-2000 and is known as the most powerful 6-axial industrial robot on the market. FANUC can deal with objects as heavy as 2,300kg (2.3 tons) and can reach as far as 4.7 meters and has a lifting move up to 6.2 meters. This impressive robotic arm weighs 12,500kg (12.5 tons).

However, the fair also offers a Business Zone for lectures, demonstrations, workshops, and round-tables. The REUNION round-table gathers the pioneers of Slovenian and Yugoslavian industrial robotics, while the round-table with members of EU Robotics discusses the present and future development in the field.

Robotics – international trade fair for industrial, service and humanoid robots, is a unique B2B fair in Slovenia and the CEE region in the field of robotics. ICT4Industry is intended for the digitization of business and production processes, and IFAM is primarily intended for automation and mechatronics, while INTRONIKA is for industrial electronics.

It could have been said that with hosting the Smart Industry, the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre, is getting lifted even higher up among the best convention centres by the most powerful robotic arm in the world!
