GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre(GR) for a day hosted the VMware vForum Conference that gathered foreign and domestic experts from the area of virtualisation. VMware is a virtualization and cloud computing software provider based in Palo Alto, California, that celebrates 20 years as an industry pioneer. Virtualisation is, according to VMware, the process of creating a software-based, or virtual, representation of something, such as virtual applications, servers, storage and networks. It is the single most effective way to reduce IT expenses while boosting efficiency and agility for all size businesses.
The VMware vForum is the event about Cloud Infrastructure, Security and Business Mobility. At the VMware Events interested attendees can learn about virtualization trends, best practices and the latest technology. The Slovenian event at the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre was organised by company Diss which has been since 2015 also the official distributer of the VMware software. More than 200 speakers, managers, leaders of IT solutions, technical engineers and business coordinators from Slovenia and abroad discussed the virtualisation.
Matthias Schorer, business manager at IoT, presented how the IoT can be an important part of many companies that step onto the path of digital transformation. Dejan Grubać, the top expert in the field of the technical-presale activities, showed the modernised data centre; Piotr Jabłoński presented the interactions among users, applications and data, while Roch Norwa talked about the new way of work that is not connected to the office and about the applications that can ease this kind of work. In addition, more than ten cases of best practice, presented by the representatives of brands DellEMC, NIL, Veeam Software, HPE Slovenija, Lenovo, Arhides, APC by Schneider Electric and Kaspersky Lab, were revealed.
