When Leipzig Tourismus und Marketing GmbH and the congress initiative “Feel the spirit…do-it-at-leipzig.de” appear together at IMEX 2018, their focus will be on Leipzig’s creative, urban flair and its attractiveness as a conference destination. To stand out among the many exhibitors at the most important trade fair for the international congress, meeting, events and incentive sector, which will be held from 15 until 17 May, the team will be shining a spotlight on what makes the city so special, on interactive art and on impressions that appeal to all the senses. The stand concept was developed by the Leipzig design agency studio Hartensteiner.

The word ‘Leipzig’ will be visible from afar. This is where visitors can meet representatives of the do-it-at-leipzig.de partners in person. In addition to Leipzig Tourismus und Marketing GmbH, these are the Congress Center Leipzig (CCL) with the KONGRESSHALLE am Zoo Leipzig, Porsche Leipzig, the Red Bull Arena Leipzig, event lab. GmbH and Zoo Leipzig. They have each left their own mark on the stand’s design, for example in the form of tyre tracks, footballs or paw prints that guide visitors from the information counter to the meeting corner.

Analogue art meets digital trade fair world

Every minute the stand will be transformed, thus attracting the attention of visitors. The Berlin artist collective OLD YELLOW, which brings walls to life, will be using chalk to create a contemporary and unique work of art at the trade fair. The interactive performance will illustrate Leipzig’s dynamic and modern side just as much as the traditional city with its attractions and highlights. Visitors can even influence which motifs appear on the wall – the perfect setting for lively discussions. At the same time, the analogue visual world will provide an exciting contrast to the trade fair’s many digital offerings. Inspired by this, our ‘boards to go’ will give guests a charming souvenir of their fleeting visit to Leipzig.

They will also remember a very special scent that will bring a touch of Leipzig’s riverside forest into the exhibition halls. Wild garlic and its distinctive smell are typical of spring in Leipzig. This is why the design of the trade fair stand has incorporated these plants to add a decorative splash of colour and as an ambassador of a green city. And to get a taste of Leipzig with all your senses, the conference location invites visitors to ‘Leipzig After Hours’ at the stand on Tuesday and Wednesday, 15 and 16 May, from 5.30 p.m. Specialities that come directly from Leipzig or are closely linked to the city will be served, including Mieps fizzy drinks, Quartiermeister beer, Red Bull and Vodka Red Bull with Stiller Josef vodka. Combined with an opportunity for a friendly chat and great music, they promise to whet people’s appetites for Leipzig.

Partners from do-it-at-leipzig.de at IMEX

All this will create the perfect backdrop to get talking to the do-it-at-leipzig.de partners in person. As the largest host for congresses in Leipzig, the Congress Center Leipzig and the KONGRESSHALLE am Zoo Leipzig will provide an insight into their varied conference activities and what the two venues have to offer. Porsche Leipzig, the Red Bull Arena Leipzig and Zoo Leipzig will be informing visitors about their very special conference and event settings as well as the extraordinary extras available. In addition, the PCO partner event lab. GmbH will also be presenting itself at the stand.

Pay the conference destination Leipzig a visit at IMEX 2018 at Stand G 170. From 15 until 17 May, IMEX 2018 will be open daily from 10 a.m. On 15 and 16 May, visitors are invited to stop by from 5.30 until 6.30 p.m. for a chat during ‘Leipzig After Hours’ with drinks and music.
