Martina Candillo has been Director of Congresses & Events at Reed Exhibitions Messe Wien since the start of the year and is delighted about two new innovations: a new set of safety and security guidelines for the venue, and a free APP for organisers and event participants.

Messe Wien has now implemented a new safety and security concept. The document was compiled in cooperation with safety and security experts from Vienna’s regional police headquarters, from the operators of Messe Wien, Reed Exhibitions, and from MBG, the venue’s owners and members of the Vienna Holding Group. The content of the safety and security guideline document defines services and preventative measures to deal with the widest possible range of scenarios – from minor accidents to terrorist threats. The first step will be implemented this year in the form of a redesigning of the concourses and forecourts to integrate the suggestions in the guideline document.

From now on the ‘Very Vienna Congress & Event’ app and the personalised ‘Very Vienna Congress Maps and Guides’ will be available to further enhance customer services for events at Messe Wien. The new, free info and orientation services can be made available to third-party organisers at Messe Wien to forward to participants attending their events. Not only do they improve the guest’s ability to navigate and gather information around the venue, they also enhance memories of the stay in Vienna in general.
