The Jane E. Schuldt Master Motivator Award is presented annually to a SITE member who upholds the highest standard of excellence in creating and delivering successful incentive travel and motivational events and exudes energy, enthusiasm and a collaborative spirit in support of the global incentive travel community. Last year the award was renamed in honour of the late Jane E. Schuldt, past president of both SITE and the SITE Foundation.

Upon accepting the award Egberts commented, that she is honoured to be part of a legacy of such distinguished professionals who have received this award and, through this award, she is humbled to be associated with Jane Schuldt a true industry icon. This accomplishment is a reflection of the great support networks in the industry that have helped her on her journey – without them, this wouldn’t have been possible. As she moves forward, she will use the positive energy from this award to continue bringing innovative and collaborative solutions in partnership with SITE and the incentive travel community.

Egberts combines the international and innovative spirit of the Dutch and the passion of her Italian family with the strength and open-mindedness of a citizen of the world. With more than 25 years of experience in the hospitality and MICE industry, she is recognized as one of Europe’s leading experiential event planners, well known for her stylish and creative ideas, deep local destination knowledge and a special sense for the wishes and needs of her clients. She is also a leading advocate of environmentally friendly and sustainable events.

SITE president Annamaria Ruffini, CIS, CMP describes Egberts as a “maestro extraordinare”. As host committee chair for the SITE + MPI Global Forum in Rome, Miek was able to orchestrate a complex group of stakeholders from two leading associations to produce a historical and very successful event.

A SITE member for 16 years, Egberts has held various roles on the SITE Italy board and this year was elected to a second term as chapter president. She also served as co-chair for the SITE Global Conference in Panama in 2016.
