Q: In your opinion, what makes Vienna special?
Vienna is number one when it comes to most lifestyle conscious cities in the world. Personally, I love Vienna because of its individuality and that the city is changing slowly but constantly with new bars/restaurants and international shops being opened. What I like about Vienna’s lifestyle is to go to a traditional museum like ALBERTINA on one day and on the next day you can visit a variety of urban design exhibitions. Music plays a big role in my city, ranging from musicals and annual outdoor festivals at the Danube island which are even for free. Another special trait of the city is that on one hand it is full of culture / urban city surroundings and on the other hand it is surrounded by lots of green such as vineyard areas that are only a hop away from the city center.
Q: Where would you take someone to ‘feel’ the vibe of Vienna and what is your best incentive idea in Vienna?
You have to see the vineyard hills and of course the downtown city center like the small streets at “Judenplatz”. For more urban style vibes you have to go to our Danube canal filled with different bars and chill-out beaches. A walk around castle Schönbrunn is a must too. What’s the best incentive? I love to show Vienna on the crazy go-kart like cars called “hotrod” cars.
Q: What do you see as crucial marketing elements to lure meeting planners?
Public transportation, the safety of the city, close proximity to the airport and to historical sites, good flight connections, amazing hotels from lifestyle – (eg. 25hours) to traditional Sissi hotels, lots of incentive possibilities like urban/traditional/green activities, good and friendly hospitality and incomparably good food.
