About Petra

Ms Petra Stušek is the Managing Director of Ljubljana Tourism. Ms Stušek is also Vice-President of the Board for the Leisure & Tourism Industry of European Cities Marketing, a non-profit international organisation for city tourism enabling a higher competitiveness and performance of the leading European destinations.
Prior to these roles, she was in charge of communications for the foreign and domestic publics at Ljubljana Tourism, reporting directly to the CEO. In recent years, she and her team have won several prestigious titles, such as “WTTC Tourism for Tomorrow” award for Ljubljana as the most sustainable destination in the world, and the “Digital Tourism Think Tank” award for the web portal content. Ljubljana also won the ETIS and Accessible Tourism Joint Award 2016 in the category “Environment and accessibility as a catalyst for sustainable and responsible growth”.

Since she was eighteen, she has been active in tourism. For several years she was also an active member of the National PR organization, leading the central communication section for PR experts from different fields and organizing debates with different communication specialists.
Ms Stušek holds a degree at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana and has completed a post-graduate study at the Faculty of Economics, obtaining a Master’s degree in Tourism and a second one in Sales. She also successfully finished a specialization at the “Slovene School of Public Relations.”
She is a passionate runner, cyclist, climber, skier. And, of course, an avid traveller.

The Association Meetings Programme is designed to share knowledge and enable informal networking among ICCA Members and Association Executives as well as the faculty, featuring top experts in a range of topics – primarily about bidding, designing, organising and promoting international association meetings. ICCA AMP took place in the beautiful capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana, from 9 to 11 July.
