About Christoph

Born in Germany, Christoph Schewe started his career in 1985 in the Air Force. 14 years in various assignments, including earning a diploma in business administration, shaped Christoph’s planning, leadership and training skills. Subsequently, he expanded his experience in the private sector at Allianz Insurance. Passionate about aviation safety, in 2002, Christoph became Technical Director of the German Air Line Pilots’ Association. His responsibilities included managing committees of pilot volunteers, organizing their meetings and external representation. Since July 2013, Christoph resides in Montreal. As Managing Director of IFALPA, he oversees the personnel, organization, and finances, of the Federation with its almost 100 member associations and over 100,000 airline pilots; he has also a leading role in arranging the Federation’s annual international conference and about 20 working group size meetings around the globe. Christoph continues his military career in the reserves, loves to travel, to engage in international networking, and runs marathons.

The Association Meetings Programme is designed to informally network with ICCA Members and Association Executives and learn from each other and the top faculty of experts about bidding, designing, organising and promoting international association meetings. It took place in the beautiful capital of Slovenia: Ljubljana from 9-11 July.
