New announcements

The 2018 AIPC Annual Conference in London UK and its component General Assembly generated a series of key decisions and announcements arising from association business. Amongst these were:

  • The Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur was selected as the site of the 2020 AIPC Annual Conference. This prestigious KL centre will represent an Asian rotation and again demonstrate the global coverage of AIPC while offering insights into a rapidly growing area of the industry.
  • The Valencia Conference Centre in Spain was declared winner of the 2018 AIPC Apex Award. The selection was made as a result of an analysis of client surveys from 17 finalist centres made by the international market research firm Ipsos under a rigorous set of evaluation criteria established for the Award.

The AIPC Board also recognized two runners-up in this year’s award; the Kongresskultur Bregenz GmbH, Austria and the Palais des congrès de Montréal in Canada.

Aloysius Arlando, AIPC President

“The Apex Award is our highest honor and is therefore made on basis of the most in-depth independent analysis of facilities and services in the industry”, said AIPC President Aloysius Arlando. “The Award decision is entirely in the hands of centre clients, who rate a wide range of facility qualities in order to enable Ipsos to arrive at a conclusion that is as meaningful as it is prestigious”.

“We are proud to welcome these new members to the AIPC family, representing as they do a cross section of our very global industry and membership”, said AIPC President Aloysius Arlando. “Their involvement even further broadens our reach and status as a truly global body with world-wide representation and all the experiences and insights that implies – something that benefits every member of our organization.”
