Café Union - Kavarna Union since 1905
In the heart of Ljubljana, on the corner of Grand Hotel Union, which was an important part of Ljubljana’s cultural history, is the location of Union Café, which boasts a long-standing tradition of 113 years. The elegant Secession or ‘Viennese’ café was in the past famous and considered to be a ‘fancy’ place mostly owing to a number of men of note who were in the habit of hanging out there (the painters Jakopič, Smrekar, Čargo, the writers Tavčar, Cankar, Župančič and many others).
Today’s relaxed version and is due to its excellent table service and little treats, which are guaranteed to brighten the guests’ day, popular with guests of any age. It is a popular choice for anyone who loves special little treats such as excellent coffee, the house-made pies, and cakes, the Wine Library with over 180 labels of wines and a peaceful setting.
