Created eight years ago by the Trigano Family, co-founders of Club Med, today MAMA is Serge and his two sons, Benjamin and Jeremie. MAMA began her roots in Paris, then Marseille, from there to Lyon, Bordeaux, Los Angeles, Rio de Janeiro, Belgrade and now Prague. It already boasts 1036 rooms, 8 restaurants and 600 employees in 8 cities and 5 countries!
In Prague, the legendary PARKHOTEL was chosen to turn into MAMA Shelter. It’s unique architecture of Zdeněk Edel with its typical minimalist clean lines from the 1960’s was sensitively dealt with, keeping interesting and legendary elements mixing them up with the fun and eclectic style of MAMA Shelter, creating a truly unique place for travellers and locals to love. MAMA Shelter creates and choreographs lively accommodation and restaurant facilities on a daily basis. More than simply rooms or restaurants, MAMA Shelter is a living and meeting space, a true urban refuge that’s not just beautiful, modern and lively but also popular, friendly and sexy. MAMA Shelter Prague has 238 rooms with three room types (Mama Medium 18m2, Large Mama 25m2 and Mama XXL 44m2). The rooms are sanctuaries with the comforts of home coupled with all the needs of digital modernity, with spacious king beds and high speed wifi. Travellers can lay back on 100% satin cotton sheets and watch free movies of all kinds, clean and pamper their bodies with MAMA SKIN by Absolution’s all-natural soaps and lotions. Mama Shelter is not just a place to sleep. It’s a place for all the diverse characters to live, work, laugh, debate and celebrate.
The hotel invites both locals and travellers to enjoy home-cooked meals in its two restaurants. The main restaurant upstairs can accommodate up to 200 people in its various parts enabling them to enjoy a shared meal at a large wooden table or sit privately in one of the smaller tables. With wood oven pizzas and family-style dishes from the Mediterranean, it’s about Mama loving you. The restaurant offers an eclectic selection of French, Italian, Greek and Middle Eastern meals. Enjoy a shared mezze selection with your friends, try one of our mouth watering salads, main courses or pizzas, we are sure you will always come back for more. The funky and colourful restaurant is also opened for breakfast which you can enjoy with your friends inside or on the terrace. The upper restaurant enables the guests to watch the mastery of the chef and his team through a glass window or have fun while playing games. Chess, backgammon, scrabble, video games, table football, we have it all ready for you to live the Mama Shelter life. The restaurant is interconnected with the lounge area which boats a 17 meter long bar and a legendary terrace where you can taste your first MAMA Loves You cocktail. You can enjoy a drink before dinner or just hang out with your friends for the night and listen to live DJ or a band every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. With six meeting rooms set aside for collaboration along with a huge outdoor space, large groups have space to gather to create or simply hang out.
The bottom restaurant called a Garden Bar caters to everybody who loves more pub style environment with pool tables, table football and screens to watch any sport you can imagine. For important games, there is a large screen where you can cheer on your favourite player or team. The menu offers high quality pub style meals including burgers and hot dogs, all with Staropramen beer from the tank. There is also a terrace and pink pong tables outside where you can set up a small tournament with your friends.
