On the 20th of October 2018, GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre hosted the 4th Slovenian Games Conference (SGC). With this year event’s hosting around 400 attendees from Slovenia and abroad, SGC is looking to further establish itself as a serious games conference in the Adriatic region.
SGC is an annual conference focusing on a number of activities that together represent a process of video game technical development, design, marketing and business of game development. The conference presents a great opportunity for networking, finding a job, and spreading horizons in this multi-million dollar industry.
For the fourth year, the conference of game developers gathered representatives of companies, experts, enthusiasts, students, and others interested in creating digital games.
This year the conference hosted top world speakers: David Helgason (founder and board member at Unity Technologies), Saku Lehtinen (creative director at Remedy Entertainment), Jónas Antosson (reality distortionist at Raw Fury), Wili Miettinen (principal algorithm developer at Varjo), Urša Jevnikar Sadar (HR strategist at Outfit 7), and Slobodan Danilović (co-founder and lead animator at Take One), to name a few.
A full day of lectures was accompanied by SGC Indie Game Expo, a specific area dedicated to presentations of indie games and studios. The Expo gives developers a unique opportunity to showcase their creations to hundreds of professionals, players, and journalists, as well as publishers and investors.
