GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre (GR), the largest Slovenian event centre, is annualy visited by half a million people what equals for almost two times the number of Ljubljana’s residents. Its location in Ljubljana’s city centre represents a significant competitive advantage and also contributes from a sustainable point of view which has been an increasingly important part of the meetings industry.
Planned in the modernist style, built in the tradition of boldly designed exhibition spaces, and completely renovated, the GR today consists of seven large halls and several smaller conference rooms. The centre is undoubtedly comparable to international centres with a high level of professionalism and a thorough knowledge of the meetings industry.
For all the above stated reasons, GR represents a wanted and well-booked centre for congresses and events. In 2018 it has had a record year of events of its own production as well as of hosting many major international events like fairs, trade shows, congresses, business conventions, and other meetings. GR will continue its successful run also in 2019, starting with Conventa on the 23rd and 24th of January 2019.
Conventa, the boutique trade show with 11 years of experience, has been renowned as one of the most important Europe’s events where around 120 providers of meetings services from New Europe showcase their offers to 250 hosted buyers from the whole of Europe and beyond. And the same as for GR, sustainability is also an important part of Conventa which has been implementing sustainable practices that add value to all participants and the local community.
THE HISTORY OF CONVENTA AND GR’S COLLABORATION
The GR’s technical team, in co-operation with the organisers – the Slovene Convention Bureau and the agency Toleranca Marketing – ensures that the trade show is flawlessly executed, not only in the central Marmorna Hall, but also in the Povodni mož Hall where lunches are served 450 people on each day of the show. In Urška Hall, lectures by Slovenian and foreign industry professionals take place in parallel with meetings. At last year’s event, some of the lectures were in the form of business breakfasts, where attendees were able to enjoy listening to lectures whilst enjoying a real American breakfast.
These are just some of the diverse characteristics of GR and Conventa that are aligned and work perfectly well together. But mostly, the GR still, year after year, proves its ability to follow its mission and slogan “Everything is possible”, and thus, Conventa gladly embraces its space and service year after year.
