Pohorje Resort, specialised in sports tourism, was as a brand formed only 6 months ago. Namely, in early September 2018, Miran Ferk from PlayGreen acquired hotels Arena, Bolfenk and Videc and then immediately started renovating the hotels and gathered them under one joint brand – Pohorje Resort.

Thus, Pohorje Resort together with Play Green became one of the most renowned providers for oganisation of summer trainings and match day preparations of football and hockey teams. In the past, Play Green also hosted camps of Chinese football academies and others. In its 15 years of successful hosting sport preparation, training camps, and competitions, the Play Green has hosted very prominent names that go from major to small football clubs and national teams, and clubs from other sports. Let’s name just a few: Bayer Leverkusen, Ajax, Liverpool, Hajduk Split, Ferencvarosi Torna Club Budapest, Leicester City, as well as national teams like England, Russia, Croatia, Scotland, etc.

Pohorje Resort through its PlayGreen facilities offers: the Play Green football camp with four football fields with FIFA compliant dimensions (100 x 70m), located next to mountain Mariborsko Pohorje. Pohorje Resort’s Play Green also has an UEFA licence allowing to organise matches as well as several years of experience in sports tourism that reflect in the quality of the services. They also provide complete logistics, professional referees and everything else needed for a friendly match. They also provide cryotherapy chamber on the spot. In addition, the Pohorje Resort provides service for organisation of children’s camps with complete facilities and the option of hiring external professional staff.

Maribor provides sports facilities for the implementation of diverse sport activities, accommodation facilities at lower and higher altitudes. Thus, one of the most important providers for organisation of sports events, the Pohorje Resort, certainly contributes to Maribor’s reputation as the must go city for any organiser of sports meetings and events. Hence, it logically followed that the Pohorje Resort was today named into a new member of the Maribor Convention Bureau along the existing members Convention Centre Habakuk, Mond Conference Centre, Hotel City Maribor, and Hoteliers’ Cooperative. All of them together provide possibilities for executing excellently organised conventions, seminars, celebration, and meetings of diverse character in the second largest Slovenian city.
